Language lessons
with HLI: On
a Home Language International course, you need NEVER meet anyone
who speaks your language. Aside from the structured tuition,
all conversations, TV viewing and social activities are in the
language you are studying. In this important social context,
your teacher will guide you and correct mistakes. It's this full
immersion approach which makes Home Language International so
effective, and gives insight into language and lifestyle.
The Home Language International language lessons are suitable
for almost any age range. Older, more mature students, with
very little previous knowledge of their
chosen language, need not suffer from being part of a large mixed
age or ability group because our students are individually taught.
The very young benefit from being in a home environment and
are supervised according to parents' wishes by our teachers and
regional organisers. Teenagers of both sexes sometimes need a
firm hand and no one is better qualified to give this than our
experienced teachers who are accustomed to supervising adolescents
of all ages and temperaments. 'Living in a teacher's home' is
completely different from a homestay with an ordinary family,
because younger students with us are in the hands of professionals,
not amateurs.
We also offer Closer Supervision (Cocooning) for under
18s. The Standard Course does not oblige the teacher or member
of the family to spend all their time with the student,
but the teacher does of course spend a reasonable amount of time
with the student, as they would with any friend who came to stay.
On the other hand, this closer supervision option guarantees
that the teacher or an adult member of the family is around at all times,
but does not guarantee specific activities
