Home
Language International will try to meet a student's desired location
in a particular country, but sometimes the teacher most suitable
for that student may not live in the preferred city or town.
Students are perfectly free to state their preferences as to
the type of teacher they require, as this helps us to make the
perfect match that we all desire. For example, students sometimes
request a family with young children or without young children,
a family that smokes or does not smoke, a family that has pets
or does not have pets, a family with members who are interested
in sports such as golf, tennis, football or a family with interests
such as classical concerts and walks in the countryside. It is
far more important to find common interests and a match to the
student's requirements than to require a specific area or, worse
still, a specific town in that area. For this reason we request
students ,wherever possible, to give us three areas in order
of preference in those countries such as the UK where a large
choice of areas is available.
Matching student and teacher always takes precedence, since
this is crucial to the programme's success. However, with Home
Language International's 2,000 qualified teachers spread throughout
the world, the perfect preferred match of teacher, student and
location is often possible.
