- Which course? Many schools offer a variety of courses. Do you
need the language in your occupation? If yes, you
can find business courses or courses which specialize
in particular fields which may be more useful to
you than a general language course. Do not forget,
however, that 90 % of a technical conversation is
based on general language. If you only require a
specific vocabulary, a good dictionary may be better
value than an expensive course. Specialized courses
are not very useful for beginners. Should you decide
to take one, you must be in command of the basics.
- How many hours of lessons do you want? You can choose
between 15 and 40 per week - theoretically you can
have whatever you would like. Do not forget, however,
that you need time to digest what you have heard.
If you need the language for business purposes,
we recommend 30 hours of lessons a week, but only
20 if you need it for general use (one academic
hour is usually 45 minutes - check the information
provided by the school regarding the length of the
lessons). Are the courses in the morning? Or are
they in the afternoon? Are you happy about that?
